KHRISTICH JOINS WESTERN SQUAD FOR 1997 NHL ALL-STAR GAME

Inglewood, CA -- Kings winger Dimitri Khristich, the club's MVP last season and current leading scorer, has been selected to play for the Western Conference in this weekend's NHL All-Star Game, the league announced today.

Khristich, with 37 points (12-25=37) in 43 games this year for the Kings, replaces injured teammate Rob Blake at this year's All-Star contest to be played in San Jose on Saturday Jan. 18 (5 p.m. PST). Originally selected to represent the Kings at the All-Star Game, Blake sustained a fractured hand on Dec. 26 and has not returned to action.

The 27-year-old Khristich, in his seventh NHL season, will be making his All-Star Game debut. Kings logo
